Abstract

The undoubted value of the collective curated by Loredana Perla and Berta Martini is that it constitutes an observation tool to look at two similar but at the same time profoundly different concepts, such as the professionalism and professionalism of teachers. Scholars belonging to the Pedagogy and Didactics Group of the School of the Italian Society of Pedagogy (SIPEd), who have long been confronted with the theme of teacher training, studying the models and practices of initial and in-service training, have contributed in formulating a complex answer, through both theoretical and empirical approaches, to the two guiding questions of the text, namely: what idea of ​​professionalism today for the teacher? And how is it possible to promote the teacher's in-service development?
