Abstract

The complex condition and the various functional profiles of students affected by autistic spectrum disorders have required the support of expert trainers who, acting directly with the teachers, have designed a training model by blending theoretical knowledge with practical teaching applications. The new support model for teachers was created in the schools of Trentino as from 2010 jointly by IPRASE and by the ODFLab of the University of Trento. These training apprenticeship courses, that involved over 70 teacher staff meetings at schools of all types and at all levels, were monitored by means of the results in terms of learning and development of the students, acting as model for the comprehension of the meaning of inclusive teaching and of multiple teaching methods.
