The contributions collected in this volume stem from the presentations and discussions held during the Round Table and working groups of the Conference on Transversal Skills. Organized by GEO, the University of Trento, and CRUI, the event took place in Trento in April 2024.
The volume first explores the complex theoretical framework of transversal skills, addressing the terminological and ethical issues associated with them, as well as the potential and limitations of interventions designed to foster their development.
Furthermore, it delves into educational innovation as a key driver for acquiring both disciplinary and transversal competencies. Through innovative teaching methods, students become the protagonists of their own learning, gaining autonomy and shaping their professional and personal identity—an evolution further supported by GEO’s research in the field.
