The topic considered in this issue of the journal is the periodic comparative survey on learning mathematics and science, known by the acronym TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Achievement) and promoted by the IEA (International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement).
The volume consists of three sections. The first section, Studies and Research, hosts contributions by leading scholars on various issues. The Reflections section hosts interesting essays by numerous authors. Finally, in the third part, a stimulating interview is proposed.
