Abstract

In the field of Educational Linguistics, in Italy and internationally, there has been a growing interest in the impact of linguistic disorders on foreign language learning and the experimentation of effective teaching practices. However, empirical research on this topic is mostly based on interventions for selected groups of learners with these disorders, carried out in an isolated setting which does not reflect the Italian educational context. The present paper focuses on the potential contribution of action research to educational, linguistic research on this topic. The discussion also includes the analysis of some action research projects carried out in collaboration with the Italian Dyslexia Association.
