International surveys indicate that in France children of migrants are at least twice as likely to encounter school difficulties compared to autochthonous students. This implies the necessity to take into account their specific individual and social needs to create more effective prevention programs. The Transcultural Approach shows that schools can act as a bridge between the host society and migrant families, promoting well-being, success and school inclusion in children of migrants. This paper presents the Transcultural Approach that inspired the Transcultural School Mediation program, which aims to bridge the gap between school and migrant families, reducing school vulnerability factors in the children of migrants.
