Abstract

With the Decree of 29 December 2020, no. 182, the Minister of Education, in agreement with the Minister of Economy, introduced the Individualised Education Programme models, which must be adopted by all Italian schools from the 2021/22 school year. This is an unprecedented step in the history of the integration of disabled pupils in schools, which began in the 1970s. The article reconstructs prior events, to then focus on the most innovative and interesting elements from the pedagogical-didactic point of view, without neglecting reflections on critical issues that need to be resolved.
