Abstract

Education for sustainability is now a necessity to address the global challenges of the 2030 Agenda. This study examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI), when integrated into innovative teaching methodologies and guided by mindful educational leadership, can contribute to the development of sustainable, inclusive, and transformative learning environments. Using a mixed-methods approach, it explores perceptions and critical issues related to sustainable educational strategies.
The findings reveal a strong awareness of the importance of sustainability but also highlight structural and cultural obstacles such as curriculum fragmentation, resistance to innovation, and lack of training. Experiential learning and collaborative problem-solving prove effective in fostering interdisciplinary competencies.
AI offers opportunities for personalizing learning pathways but requires a critical approach. Educational leadership plays a key role in driving change by fostering collaboration and experimentation. The study emphasizes the urgency of coherent educational policies and targeted investments to build a fair and inclusive educational system.
