Abstract

The figure of the teacher today is increasingly the subject of controversial debates. But regardless of the perspective from which one chooses to analyze it, its centrality within the educational path in school is evident and incontrovertible. In the text “Why do I teach? Because I believe it. A good teacher makes the difference", edited by Michele de Beni and Claudio Girelli, intends to give voice to all those teachers who have managed to make a contribution of inestimable value to the lives of the students they have accompanied in their scholastic career, collecting the testimonies of 12 Italian teachers, many of whom were finalists for prestigious awards such as the Global Teacher Prize and the Global Teacher Award.
