Abstract

The disastrous extreme weather events that have dominated the recent news should have convinced everyone by now that global warming is a problem. However, it would be misleading to consider this problem in isolation. The correct approach, on the other hand, is to consider climate change as one of the consequences of the behavior of a society that exploits natural resources without taking into account the long-term consequences. This is the approach adopted by Pope Francis 'Encyclical Laudato si'. What to do then? We need correct information that fosters ecological awareness. It is important to be able to distinguish serious sources from the opinions of self-styled experts and above all to have clear and authoritative texts available.
