LoGlo: the world in the neighborhood, the neighborhood in the world

Abstract

LoGlo is an educational project developed in Merano, Alto Adige Südtirol, in autumn 2021.The name “LoGlo” comes from the fusion between the words Logos, Global and Local, with which we want to express the desire to address issues - and problems - relating to Global Citizenship Education (ECG), relating them to the local perspective through a critical approach.In particular, the South Tyrolean reality taken into consideration sees the coexistence of two main linguistic and cultural horizons - the Italian and the German - enriched in recent decades by the presence of new linguistic groups linked to migratory phenomena. It is within this heterogeneous context that the LoGlo project attempted to develop an unprecedented path by working on a connection between issues related to the ECG and multilingualism.
