Abstract

The contribution presents the results of a quantitative survey carried out by INDIRE in collaboration with the Italian Dyslexia Association (AID) in 2022, aimed at investigating the inclusive potential of the Debate. Part of the “ideas for innovation” of the Avanguardie educative Movement since 2014, the Debate is one of the most popular and promising methodologies for the promotion of transversal and citizenship skills. Although it was introduced in Italy especially in secondary school, following the format of the World Schools Debate Championship, the INDIRE research group has always promoted the Debate in a vertical and non-competitive perspective, able, as the teachers report, to create inclusive and participatory learning opportunities.
