Abstract

Digital citizenship can be declined as a set of rights and responsibilities, as identity and as participation. The implementation of Law 92/2019 continues the reflection on the ways in which the Italian school can prepare students to become active and aware citizens in a democratic society characterized by increasingly rapid changes. There is a need for teacher training capable of answering the educational questions posed by the transformations at the time of the onlife and based on continuous updating, also in a digital key, in order to enable students to become digital citizens: from passive consumers to critical consumers and responsible producers. With this in mind, this paper presents the experimental project “Digital Civic Education. A hypothesis for Primary School,” a research-intervention that had the research objective of fostering the acquisition and exercise skills in the context of Onlife Citizenship.
