Abstract

This article is an initial attempt to test the impactof two teacher professional development research projects carried out in day-care centres and nursery schools by two different research groups, using focus groups. From analysis of the data collected, the most significant aspects emerging as a result of teachers’ participation in the teacher professional development research projects were in both cases, albeit in different ways, the acquisition of reflective attitudes towards research and the transfer of what has been learned to new circumstances.
