Abstract

The present paper develops reflections about Civic andcitizenship education (CCE) in the Province of Trento. These reflections result from the support and monitoring actioncarried out by IPRASE (Istituto Provinciale per la Ricerca e la Sperimentazione Educativa) in the course of the second year of the implementation of the new teaching/learning area. In particular we refer to the outcomes of a survey addressed to all Trentino schools of both primary and secondary level, to points made in the course of workshop discussions involving teachers of schools of different levels, and to the analysis of documents provided by the schools. The reflections to follow touch upon crucial features of CCE teaching/learning paths, like planning and assessment at both the school and the class level.
