Abstract
Teacher training is an open and highly relevant issue. First of all, it constitutes an institutional problem, since it has not yet found a satisfactory political solution in our country. But this question is also alive at the level of education sciences, where it represents one of the most debated topics. This debate is enriched by the important volume edited by Asquini, which identifies 'Ricerca-Formazione' as a fundamental strategy for the development of teachers' professionalism. This is a work born as part of the initiatives of Crespi (Centro di ricerca educativa sulla professionalità dell’insegnante), a research community based at the University of Bologna, which includes researchers from
various universities of the peninsula.
