Abstract

The music teacher who appears on the cinema screen is often, though not always, a frustrated, dissatisfied, unmotivated musician who has failed to break into the artistic field. If at the beginning he experiences his work as a completely unwanted burden, the result of adverse circumstances with respect to personal expectations, then it happens that he discovers how exciting and satisfying it can be to transmit his skills and his passion in terms of music to students, almost always challenging, so as to make him savor the joy of being able to put his talent to good use, albeit in a different perspective from the one prefigured. In reality, and more generally, in the face of a certainly substantial number of teachers who exercise their profession having arrived there in a convinced and completely chosen and desired way, it is to be believed that the social representation that comes to us from the screen is not completely out of place.
