On November 28, 2023, the results of the third cycle of the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS) 2022 were released. This comparative international study on civic and citizenship education is promoted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). These results provide a rather comprehensive overview of the various dimensions under investigation, including levels of civic knowledge, attitudes, and civic engagement of students, as well as the contexts not only at the national level (in terms of educational policies) but also at the school and classroom levels for the teaching of civic and citizenship education.
