The educational value of kamishibai. Best practices for learning coexistence

Abstract

For several years, the Museum of Science in Trento (Muse), has been offering educational activities for families using the kamishibai theater; starting from themes such as environmental education and inclusion, some unpublished stories have been created. The authors describe in their contribution some of these experiences and emphasize the importance of kamishibai as a storytelling tool that creates the right conditions for learning, allows the conveyance of a wide range of concepts, and it’s suitable for engaging with the childhood target audience. Consequently, its use in all educational contexts, both formal and informal, is highly recommended.
