The article presents an educative research which was designed within a Service Learning project and involved the implementation of: (a) an educative program, entitled “Between connections”, which resulted in Cooperative Learning activities related to the disciplines of geography and science, and aimed at promoting in children attending a fourth grade Italian primary school class a positive interdependence, which is essential to enhance cooperative relationships, and (b) a qualitative research aimed to understand the participants’ thoughts about the meaning of ‘group’ and ‘connections’ as well as the difficulties they encountered in the group activities in which they were involved. After the outline of the theoretical background that guided the design of the program, the educative activities carried out in the classroom will be described, then the article concludes with the presentation of the findings that emerged from the analysis, through the phenomenological empirical method (Mortari, 2022), of the collected data.
