RicercAzione

RicercAzione is a scientific journal that intends to promote knowledge and sharing of guidelines and practices concerning teaching/educational research and innovation in local, national and international contexts.

The process of accepting and publishing the contributions follows the approach of a  scientific journal in the teaching and educational field: preliminary assessment by the editors, followed by a  double blind review and any further stages of blind review. 

Attribution of DOI to the articles, the fact of being an open journal and the creation of a dedicated website, shows the aim of the journal is to promote the spread of ideas, research and experimentation that can support educational and research methodological innovation.

RicercAzione wants to be  a scientific journal at the service to school and to other educational institutions.

Stressing the “service”of a scientific journal has a dual purpose: 

  • to maintain a close connection with research and the context in which the educational practices are developed;
  • to propose itself as a useful instrument in their implementation.

The journal focused on plurality and diversity for personal development. A research project that is useful for the educational institutions can be useful also for the professional growth of those who work in education sector and schools, in different contexts and areas.

RicercAzione contains contributions of theoretical and empirical research that stand out for their generative potential with regard to teaching and educational practices and is addressed to those who work in schools (teachers, managers, consultants,..) but also to researchers, training providers and local decision makers.

In general, the research papers in the journal RicercAzione will generate and promote  further research. We are therefore committed to publishing a journal based on high scientific standards, aimed at  those who work in educational institutions and are committed to their own professional development.

The journal is also aimed at academic researchers and people who work for or collaborate with schools and educational institutions to promote the public good in an inclusive way.

RicercAzione is published by IPRASE, Institute for Educational Research and Experimentation of the Autonomous Province of Trento.

IPRASE is a public institution whose purposes are research, professional development, and experimentation in the educational field. It is not easy to combine research and professional development. The research and professional development supports and promotes those who are committed to individual development and communal interdependence, i.e. The educational commitment is a community commitment.

IPRASE is an operational agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento and an institution with professional and research standards. The journal RicercAzione has editorial independence and its professional commitment to high-quality and objective research.

RicercAzione was founded in 2009. In 2019 the journal was redesigned in terms of its graphic layout and structure.

In addition to the Research section, there are two new sections to the journal: Experience and reflections, and Reviews.

The contributions included in these two sections offer opportunities for reflection and professional development. The authors have different backgrounds and interests and use various writing formats (narratives about experiences, interviews, documents, reviews, etc.). These contributions will not undergo double blind review process and they will be directly accepted by the editors. Therefore will not be identified by a specific DOI.

RicercaAzione is a six-monthly journal which publishes articles in Italian and English . In the Researches section there are three types of contributions:

  • empirical research:  researches based on quantitative and qualitative data;
  • theoretical research: critical reviews of literature and/or studies proposing conceptual models and innovative interpretative hypotheses;
  • reports of best practises, experiences and methodological studies.

The main purposes of RicercAzione are:

  • to disseminate the results of researches in the education field with a focus on teaching and training issues;
  • to support  the development of knowledge and innovative practice in the educational system;
  • to gather significant contributions in order to improve the theoretical and empirical understanding of teaching and educational research.
